GROUPS
Anyone is invited to join a St. Andrew's GROUP. You can be a church member, non-member, visitor or a member of another congregation. We invite you to join us.

YouthThe Youth Group helps see to the spiritual needs of the teens and young adults of St. Andrew’s. This includes discussion groups of youth attending Sunday services, as well as arranging occasional activities outside the church.

Chancel Choir – Our choir is a wonderful part of our church service each Sunday and we gather for parties and events throughout the year. No matter how many members there are, you are always welcome. Choir rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 7pm. The choir sings only the second service at 10pm on Sundays, and has a quick run through prior to the service at 9:30am. The choir rehearses in the main sanuctuary on Wednesdays. Guest instrumentalists and vocalists are always welcome as well.

Piecemakers – We are proud to host this group of over 20 quilters from various churches in the area who meet at St. Andrew’s on Thursdays from 9:00 to 11:00 am. While enjoying fellowship and sharing crafting skills, they create and donate quilts to Motts Children’s Hospital, the VA hospital, and other groups in need. The Piecemakers have been an active group at St. Andrew's since the first quilt was made in 2001.

Bell Ringers – Our music program includes regular performances by our hand bell choir. If you have any interest in joining this group, please let our music director know. The holidays are particularly beautiful with the addition of bells.

Dominos – The Dominos group meets in the social hall. Please call the church office for exact times.

Euchre – This is a new group and details were not available at the posting of this web page. Pleae contact the church office if you are interested in joining this group.

Women's Bible Study – There are two study groups. One meets every Tuesday 9:30am and the second group on Wednesdays 1pm. Both groups meet in the educational room east of the social hall. The current topic of study is listed in the current "NEWS" section in the Chronicle.

COMMITTEES
Anyone is invited to join a St. Andrew's COMMITTEE. You can be a church member, non-member, visitor or a member of another congregation. If you have a particular skill and want to share it, we invite you to join us. Call the church office for who to contact for each committee. Your help is always welcome.

Altar Guild – The Altar Guild handles weekly and seasonal care of the altar. This ranges from changing the paraments (lectern and pulpit covers) to fit the church calendar; filling candles; to arrangement of items upon the altar.

Building – The Building Committee either handles directly or arranges outside contractors for the maintenance and improvement of St. Andrew’s UCC church building as well as the parsonage.

Christian Education – Our Christian Education group sees to the Christian educational needs of the congregation at all ages. This includes Sunday School; Confirmation; Youth group; and Adult Bible studies. This may also include dedicated study programs, such as Lenten series.

Fellowship – The Fellowship committee arranges activities to foster increased fellowship among the members of the congregation. This includes (but isn’t limited to) the annual Church Picnic; special coffee hours for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and other holidays; and special programs for men, women, and families, and association with other churches.

Mission and Outreach – The Mission and Outreach committee arranges projects for our congregation to help in the church’s wider mission of Christian outreach. This includes regular donations of food and personal items to Faith in Action; a Winter Warmth Tree to collect hats, mittens and scarves for Dexter Family Services; gifts and donations for Operation Christmas Child; and other charity donations.

Stewardship – The Stewardship Committee promotes the stewardship of time and talents as well as financial resources within the church’s membership. This includes collecting annual Time and Talent Pledges from parishioners, as well as providing monthly inspirational stewardship messages both during Sunday services as well as in the church newsletter.

Finance Committee – The Finance Committee oversees the financial health of St. Andrew’s, through the creation and presentation of our annual budget for Consistory and congregation approval; auditing income and expense accounts throughout the year; and discussion of other financial issues as necessary.

Good Shepherds – Our Good Shepherds reach out to shut-ins through visits, cards, plants, and/or baked goods throughout the year. They also send birthday cards and get well wishes to members of the congregation, provide meals as needed during times of hardship, and send welcome cards to church visitors.

Grounds – The Grounds committee handles or arranges the upkeep of the church and parsonage grounds. This includes lawn care and landscaping during the non-winter months; leaf clean-up in the fall; snow and ice removal during the winter; gutter cleaning; and parking lot maintenance.

Kitchen – The Kitchen Committee is in charge of the kitchen and regular church meals. This includes ensuring that our kitchen meets all health and safety standards; our supplies are stocked to meet regular church needs; the kitchen is staffed for preparation and serving of meals; and the kitchen is kept clean and ready for use.

Technical – The Technical Committee sees to the technical needs of the church – primarily the sound system, office equipment, and church website.

Ushers – Our Ushers serve during the church’s Sunday worship services, as well as ushering for funerals and special services throughout the year. Sunday worship services are handled on a rotating weekly team basis.

BOARDS
St. Andrew's BOARDS consist of church members. There is a main board called a "Consistory" and sub-boards for the maintenance and function of the church. Boards are elected officials.

Consistory Board – This is the main governing board of our church. It consists of leaders of the individual committees and boards. Items for discussion can be brought to the Consistory for presentation at this meeting. Please contact the church office to be scheduled into the monthly meeting. The Consistory meets the third Monday of every month at 7pm.

Memorial Board – The Memorial Board is in charge of the collection, stewardship, and use of funds donated to the church’s Memorial and Special Gifts Fund in memory of loved ones.

Church Elders – The Elders oversee the spiritual needs of our congregation. Elders regularly help with regular Sunday services, baptisms, and other special services. They also regularly meet with the pastor to discuss the spiritual state of St. Andrew’s UCC.

Cemetery Board – The Cemetery Board is in charge of the disposition and upkeep of the St. Andrew’s Cemetery. They handle sales of full burials and cremation burials, as well as the care of the cemetery grounds.

Pastoral Relations – The Pastoral Relations Committee serves to ensure and maintain good relations between the pastor and the congregation.
